OPERATOR / COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions.

Manual trading, signal automation, execution management, and the software requirements behind Operator.

Does Operator provide trade signals?

No. Operator is an execution and trade-management platform, not a signal-generation service. Trading decisions originate from the trader or a connected signal source. Operator handles the resulting execution and position management according to the user’s configured settings.

Can I enter and manage trades manually?

Yes. Operator supports manual trade entry through the live dashboard alongside automated execution from connected signal sources. You can configure position sizing, protective stops, profit targets, and trade management rules without relying on an external indicator or signal provider. Available controls depend on the active session and trade state.

Can I connect any trading indicator or signal source?

Operator is designed to work with compatible external signal sources, but not every indicator can connect automatically. A source must be capable of delivering supported signals through Operator's authorized integration methods. Compatibility depends on the indicator's capabilities and whether its signal output meets the platform's connection requirements.

What exactly does Operator automate?

Operator supports three primary types of trade instructions: entries, exits, and stops. When a connected signal source provides one of these instructions, Operator can automate the corresponding action based on your configuration. It also supports predefined position-management rules, including protective stops, profit targets, breakeven adjustments, and trailing management. You decide which actions are automated and how your trades are managed.

Where do I configure and operate Operator?

Operator is controlled primarily through its live dashboard. This is where you connect signal sources, configure execution and risk settings, enter trades, monitor positions and activity, and enable or disable automation. FBDBot Control Center handles profile selection and starting or ending sessions, while NinjaTrader Desktop handles the actual order execution. Dashboard settings and automation controls can be adjusted throughout an active session.

Can I use Operator with prop firms?

Potentially, but compatibility depends on your prop firm’s rules and how you intend to use Operator. Some firms permit automated trade management but restrict externally generated signals, automated entries, trade copying, or certain algorithmic trading practices. Other firms may have different requirements for discretionary and fully automated trading. Because Operator supports multiple execution methods, there is no universal answer. Always verify that your specific trading configuration complies with your prop firm’s policies before using it.
